Steven Ngowi’s journey as a safari guide began over 20 years ago, guiding British photographers alongside his grandfather, an experienced guide. Officially, his career took off after completing guide school in Arusha, followed by training with Tanapa in Central Serengeti and Asilia Africa. Steven is one of the few guides to achieve the prestigious walking guide qualification with Asilia, requiring 18 months of specialized training and over 120 hours of field experience.

Steven is dedicated to expanding his knowledge of African wildlife and is passionate about conservation. In November 2022, he met with Flora Nducha, Chief of UN News Kiswahili, at the United Nations in New York City, advocating for Tanzanian conservation. He also helped raise $50k for Kili C.R.E.W. (Kilimanjaro Animal Center for Rescue, Education & Wildlife) during a Ndifo Safari fundraiser.
